Middle Passage

Garth A. Harvey participated in fundraiser on December 30, 20111 to assist with
continued education of our inner city youth. Abaca Arts donated a sculpture
named Odessey to the Children Middle Passage Organization. The sculpture was
accepted by one programs director Mr. Robert Smalls.

Abaca Arts artist Garth Harvey recently teamed up with the Art of Horology's director
Steve Richardson also an accomplished watch maker in a sponsorship capacity.
Mr Ricardson created the Art of Horology to teach Brooklyn's urban youth the well kept
secret of building watches from the ground up. Our children will be taught to understand
the difference between Mechanical and Quartz time pieces. The cirriculum also expounds
on the history of quartz and Mr. Richardson also adds an African centered history to
understanding time along with today's modern sensibility to offer a unique and complete
understanding of Horology (The study of time).
